SAN ANTONIO – Martha Dittmar, 42, and her daughter, Lea Torres, 18, are accused of stealing luggage from San Antonio International Airport during the Easter holiday weekend.
Dittmar confessed to the crime, also telling San Antonio police about her daughter's involvement, an arrest affidavit stated.
Police arrested both women Wednesday on a charge of theft.
The affidavit stated that surveillance cameras captured the women as they entered the baggage claim area and as they left with luggage.
Cameras also showed their vehicle as it left the airport parking lot, the affidavit stated.
Police said they were able to identify the women through investigative work.
They said six pieces of luggage were stolen Easter weekend from April 1 through April 4.
The affidavit stated that the luggage owners reported to Southwest Airlines that they had lost about $6,000 worth of property in all.
Detectives questioned Dittmar on Wednesday and said she admitted to stealing the luggage, and told them her daughter helped her, the affidavit stated.
