Father pleads for help after daughter shot, killed

Victoria Dennis, Joshua Rodriguez killed at Churchill Park Apartments

SAN ANTONIO – The father of 17-year old Victoria Dennis said he hopes his daughter's killer is found and soon. His daughter was shot inside a Northside apartment and later died at a hospital.

Victor Dennis is pleading for help to find his daughter's killer.

"I need to know who did it," said Victor Dennis.

Police knocked on his door Tuesday to tell him the news.

"I came to the door and they told me my 17-year-old daughter was involved in a shooting at the Churchill apartments a week before her 18th birthday," Victor Dennis said. "She was shot four times, twice in the back, and twice in the chest."

Victoria Dennis and Joshua Rodriguez, 18, were shot and killed at the Churchill Park Apartments in the 1100 block of Patricia Drive. Victor Dennis said the two were friends.

Police said they don't know why the teens were targeted.

"All I do know is that my daughter was laying on the floor with four bullet holes, and she was able to call the police and able to tell the nurse to tell (me) she loved me before she died," Victor Dennis said. "Just please help me get this person caught. That's all I ask. I need to put my daughter to rest and she can rest in peace. That's it."

Investigators have said they do not believe Tuesday's shooting was the result of domestic violence. Anyone with information is asked to call police.
