Police say no accident, woman charged with killing boyfriend

SAN ANTONIO – The Bexar County medical examiner has identified a man who was allegedly killed Thursday morning by his girlfriend.

Cesar Gallegos, 47, was shot to death around 1 a.m. at a house near West Ansley Street and Moursund Boulevard.

Officers found Amanda Marie Montoya inside the home with the gun still in her hand. Gallegos had already died when officers arrived.

Montoya told police the shooting was an accident, but she was still taken into custody.

She is now facing a murder charge and is in the Bexar County Jail on $100,000 bond.
