CANYON LAKE, Texas – Update @ 3:19 p.m.:
The boil water notice is no longer in effect, officials said.
A boil water notice has been issued for four subdivisions in the Canyon Lake area.
Little Ponderosa, Pleasant View Estates, Scenic River Properties and Sattler Estates are under a boil water notice. The Lazy L&L Campgrounds also need to boil their water.
Water used for drinking, cooking and making ice should be boiled vigorously for at least two minutes to destroy any harmful bacteria.
Alternatively, residents may also purchase bottled water or find an alternative water source that doesn’t contain destructive microbes.
If you have questions regarding this matter you may contact Larry Bittle, director of operations, or Adam Gonzales, chief operator, at (830) 964-2166 or (830) 964-3854.
The following is a message from Larry Bittle, posted on the Canyon Lake Water Service Company website:
“Prior to restoring water service, CLWSC will disinfect the main water lines, flush and sample the system. We will be taking a water sample once the line is back in service; however it takes 24 hours to get those results back. We do not have any reason to believe there are contaminants in the water pipes, but are taking necessary precautions to ensure water quality until we get the sample results back. Once we have received results that there are not any harmful bacteria and other microbes in the water supply we will send a notice that the boil water notice has been lifted.”
