SAPD find shooting victim driving from scene

Police investigating

SAN ANTONIO – Around 3:21 a.m. Saturday,  a San Antonio police officer was on Rigsby and Clark Avenues when he heard gunshots fired nearby. 

At the scene, a witness gave the officer a description for a vehicle that was seen leaving that area. According to police, the officer spotted that vehicle and attempted to make a traffic stop about a block away. 

The driver continued driving for three more blocks and bailed out, police said that's when he discovered the driver had been shot. He was taken to San Antonio Military Medical Center in critical condition. 

Police said shell casings were found in the parking lot of a nearby apartment complex, Rosemont at Highlands.

Police are investigating.
