Killer goes to victim's home, asks for her by name

SAPD has not made arrests in 1993 murder of Carolyn Grant

SAN ANTONIO – The decision to answer an early morning knock on the door was a deadly one for a San Antonio woman.

Police said a man went to Carolyn Grant's home on Rancho Blanco Boulevard on June 11, 1993.

"(He) knocked on the victim's door at approximately 5:12 a.m. and asked for the victim by name. The victim came to the door and was shot by the suspect," police said.

In 2012, Grant's daughter -- just 9 years old when her mother was killed in their home -- asked police to take another look at the case.

SAPD's Cold Case Squad is still trying to determine who killed Grant. If you have any information, call 210-207-7635.
