SA radio legend Bruce Hathaway dies at 78

SAN ANTONIO – Legendary San Antonio radio personality Bruce Hathaway has died at the age of 78.

KONO-FM posted news of Hathway’s death on its Facebook page Saturday morning.

The post said in part, “Rest in peace John Bruce Hathaway and thanks for all the laughter but most of all the love.”

Hathaway’s radio career in San Antonio goes back to the early 1960s when he was a disc jockey for KTSA.

He stayed at KTSA until the early 1980s, and also worked for KONO and Magic 105.3 FM later in his career.

Hathaway was also an announcer for the San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo.
