Man accused of stealing bikes from bike store

SAN ANTONIO – A man is facing charges after a witness saw him stealing two bikes from a bike store.

Gerardo Reyna was arrested for felony theft and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

The crime happened at the Planet Bike on Bandera Road.

The witness told police when he chased after Reyna, Reyna hit him in the face with a tire iron and ran away.

Police later found a backpack at the bike shop with Reyna's birth certificate and magistrate release information inside. That's how they were able to track him down and arrest him.
