3 people hospitalized after far East Side shooting

Shooter believed to be in small, silver vehicle

SAN ANTONIO – Three people were taken to the hospital after a shooting on the city’s far East Side, authorities said.

The shooting happened at about 9:25 p.m. Friday in the 5900 block of Lake Superior Street near Lake Tahoe Street.

Police said a 63-year-old man was showing a 37-year-old woman and a 4-year-old girl a race car outside when two men in a small, silver four-door vehicle with dark-tinted windows fired five rounds from a .380-caliber pistol.

One of the bullets hit the 4-year-old girl in her right leg, another hit the 37-year-old woman in her left leg and went through her leg and a bullet hit the man in his left thigh.

The man and the little girl were taken to University Hospital in stable condition. The woman was taken to the San Antonio Military Medical Center in stable condition.

Police said security cameras captured some views of the street. They will review the footage to see if they can get some more details in the case.

Authorities do not believe the shooting was gang related and say it was just a senseless act of violence.
