SAN ANTONIO – A North Side couple has been charged in an armed robbery of a Pizza Hut, and police said they brought along a baby with them during the commission of the crime.
Police said the case is linked to another incident of armed robbery at the restaurant.
Abraham Loftis Acosta was there both times the Pizza Hut was robbed, police said. The first time, he was with an unidentified man, and the second time, he was with his girlfriend.
The first robbery happened on Sept. 19.
Police said a shotgun with a red bandana tied at the end was used in the robbery. Officers said Loftis, a baby in a stroller and another man headed from the restaurant to an apartment across the street.
A little more than a week later, on Wednesday, Loftis came back to the Pizza Hut with his girlfriend, Ashley Marie Oseguera, police said.
Investigator said Oseguera was pushing a stroller with a baby inside at the time.
An affidavit said Oseguera walked into the Pizza Hut with the stroller first and asked about specials. Then, Loftis, wearing a mask and armed with a shotgun with a red bandana tied around it, demanded cash and stuffed it inside a backpack with the Texas logo on it, according to the affidavit.
The two were seen headed to a nearby apartment complex, and staff members were able to identify them as the perpetrators and provide police with their apartment number, police said.
When police searched the apartment, they said they found the backpack and the stroller in plain view.
Both Oseguera and Loftis were charged with aggravated robbery. They are in the Bexar County Jail on a $75,000 bond.
There is no word on what happened to the baby, or if the suspects are the parents.
