SAN ANTONIO – A plan to bring in three new restaurants to La Villita's Maverick Plaza was approved Thursday.
The City Council has authorized a lease agreement with Chef Johnny Hernandez's Grupo La Gloria.

Hernandez will partner with two other chefs to bring in a Mexican restaurant, a Spanish- and Texan-inspired restaurant and a microbrewery.
The $7.6 million project also includes the renovation and expansion of two historic buildings.
The city will spend about $4 million in public improvements in and around Maverick Plaza.
The restaurants are expected to open in 2021.
