Wilson County District Court Justice Center installs memorial for Sutherland Springs survivors

WILSON COUNTY, Texas – A memorial event was held Friday at the Wilson County District Court Justice Center to honor those whose lives were lost in last year's mass shooting at the First Baptist Church of Sutherland Springs.

Workers at the justice center wanted to find a permanent way to pay tribute to the victims and survivors of the attack, so they raised flags and installed a memorial stone etched with the names of those who lost their lives.

John Holcombe, information technology director for Wilson County, lost three generations of family members in the shooting.

Judge Donna Rayes said Holcombe is one of their own, and she and her colleagues especially wanted to honor him and his family.
