This will be the third year for the lantern-lighting event celebrating the Chinese New Year.
Lanterns on the Water started in 2017 with 2,500 people and grew to more than 15,000 participants in 2018.
"This symbolic hands-on experience allows participants to personalize rice-paper or lotus flower lanterns prior to releasing them into the water. Each lantern contains an LED light and multiple decoration stations will be available,” according to a press release
Lanterns sold out in 2018 — preordering lanterns and lotus flowers is the only way to guarantee you’ll have a lantern.
Anyone who preorders a lantern will be able to pick it up at the event with proof of purchase. A paper or phone receipt is fine.
Color selection for the lanterns and lotus flowers is subject to availability. Read more about the event here.
