SAN ANTONIO – Two men were arrested and a third suspect is being sought in connection with a gang-related, drive-by shooting at a home in southwest Bexar County, according to the Bexar County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies took Robert Perales, 35, and Luis Orozco-Hernandez, 38, into custody Tuesday at the Richland apartment complex, which is near Eckhert and Bandera roads.

The arrests come nearly 48 hours after deputies went to the home in the 15200 block of Trawalter Road for a report of a shooting.

BCSO spokesman Johnny Garcia said the two suspects and another person drove by the home in separate vehicles, displaying a handgun as they went up a hill to park.

The trio got in one car, went down the hill and when they arrived in front of the home where two men were standing, Garcia said Orozco-Hernandez fired several "high-powered rounds" from an assault rifle.

As the two victims hid behind vehicles in the front yard, "(the suspects) passed by, spraying (the home) once and they came back a second time, at which Perales was seen discharging that same rifle outside of the (vehicle's) window," Garcia said.

Garcia said the trio took off before authorities arrived by ground and air.

One of the suspects was later seen by a resident heading towards Atascosa County after getting picked up by an unknown individual in a pickup truck, Garcia said.

After receiving several tips and following leads, Garcia said investigators found Perales and Orozco hiding in an apartment at the Richland complex, where they were later arrested.

Garcia said while the shooting may have been gang-driven, it also stemmed from a dispute over possession of a vehicle.

Orozco-Hernandez is facing felony charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and evading arrest. Perales is facing a charge of deadly conduct, according to Garcia.

Garcia said additional charges are expected as the investigation continues.

Deputies are still working to locate the third individual, Garcia said.
