SAN ANTONIO – NIOSA organizers on Monday continued the tradition of “Hanging of the Rain Rock” to ward off bad weather ahead of the four-day festival.
NIOSA kicks off on Tuesday at the historic La Villita and will take place each night through Friday. Gates will open at 5:30 p.m. and close at 10:30 p.m.
While there is a low chance for storms late Monday night, rain chances drop out of the forecast by Tuesday. Even though rain may throw a wrench in Fiesta plans, it would be welcomed by many as more than 90% of Texas is in a drought.
