A list of discounts, freebies for veterans, active-duty military on Veterans Day

SAN ANTONIO – Friday marks Veterans Day, and it’s a day to honor those who served.

To mark Veterans Day, restaurant chains, stores and businesses in the San Antonio area are offering freebies, deals and discounts for veterans and active-duty military members.

See below for a list of discounts and deals on Friday, or on days otherwise noted.

Food discounts and deals

7-Eleven: In honor of veterans, 7-Eleven is offering a free Quarter-Pound big-bite hot dog. The offer is available in-store and via delivery through the 7NOW app.

Applebee’s: Veterans and active-duty military members can receive a free entree with a valid military ID. The offer is good for dine-in only.

Boiler House Texas Grill and Wine Garden: The Patriot Burger will be available all month long, and proceeds will go to Combined Arms, a Texas-based nonprofit organization that helps military members transition to civilian life.

Bombshells: Veterans can get free entrees on Veterans Day, and the others in their party can get 20% off.

Bubba’s 33: Veterans and active-duty military members can get a free lunch, between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m., or pick up a raincheck voucher. A valid ID is required.

California Pizza Kitchen: Veterans and active-duty military members can get a free non-alcoholic drink and an entree from a select menu. A valid ID is required.

Charleys: Veterans and active-duty service members can get a free order of fries. A valid ID is required.

Chili’s: Veterans and active-duty military members can get a free entree from a fixed menu. The offer is available in-restaurant only.

Cicis: Veterans and active-duty military members can get a free buffet with a valid military ID.

Cracker Barrel: Veterans and active-duty military members can get a slice of double chocolate fudge Coca-Cola cake with their purchase, in-store or online, with the code VETSDAY22.

Denny’s: Veterans and active-duty military members can get free Grand Slams from 5 a.m.-noon on Veterans Day at participating locations.

Dunkin’: Retired and active-duty military members can get a free donut of their choice at participating restaurants.

Einstein Bros. Bagels: Veterans can get a free hot or iced coffee of any size with purchase. A valid ID is required.

Fish City Grill: Veterans and active-duty military members can get a free entree (up to $25.99) with a valid military ID. The offer is available with dine-in or to-go orders.

Freddy’s: Veterans and active military personnel can receive a free Freddy’s Original Double with Cheese combo meal card. Cards may be redeemed through Nov. 30.

Hawaiian Bros: Veterans and active-duty military members (and their friends and family) can get a free lunch plate from 11 a.m.-11 p.m.

IHOP: Veterans and active-duty military members can get a free stack of pancakes from 7 a.m.-7 p.m. on Veterans Day.

La Madeleine: Veterans and active-duty military members can get 30% off any purchase with a valid military ID card.

Las Palapas: Veterans can get a free enchilada plate on Veterans Day.

Plucker’s: Veterans and active-duty military members can get a free meal with a valid military ID.

QT: Active-duty military members and veterans can get one free self-serve hot drink or Big Q.

Red Lobster: Veterans and active-duty military members can get free Walt’s Favorite Shrimp, fries and coleslaw from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. on Veterans Day with a valid military ID or proof of service.

Scooter’s Coffee: Veterans can get a free drink of any size with a valid military ID. The offer is not available for order ahead through the mobile app.

Sea Island: Active-duty military members and veterans can get a free entree from the lunch special menu from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. with a military ID.

Smokey Mo’s: Veterans can get a free breakfast taco from 7 a.m.-10:30 a.m. on Veterans Day.

Summer Moon: Veterans and active-duty military members can get a free 12-ounce drip coffee.

Wendy’s: Veterans and active-duty military can get a free breakfast combo with a valid military ID or a Veterans Advantage card from 6:30-10:30 a.m. on Veterans Day.


Non-food discounts and deals

Academy Sports + Outdoors: Active military service members, veterans and first responders can get 10% off their purchases from Oct. 23-Nov. 13, both in-store and online.

Bed Bath and Beyond: Active-duty military members and veterans and their spouses can get 25% off their entire purchase on Veterans Day. The offer is good for in-store only.

God’s Dogs Rescue: Veterans with a proper ID can get 50% off adult dogs on Veterans Day.

Great Clips: Veterans and active-duty military members can get a free haircut on Veterans Day.

Kohl’s: Active-duty military members, veterans and their immediate families can get 30% off in-store from Nov. 11-Nov. 13. A valid military ID is required.

San Antonio Zoo: Active-duty military members and veterans can get into the zoo for free throughout November with a valid military ID. Up to four members of their party can get 50% off admission.

Sleep Number: Active-duty military members and veterans can get a 20% discount on most smart beds, bases and bedding through Nov. 14.

Texas State Parks: Entrance to Texas State Parks is free on Sunday, Nov. 13 in honor of veterans and active military.

Vineyard Vines: Active-duty military members and veterans can get 15% off almost everything.

The Wash Tub: Veterans and active-duty military members can get a free full-service gleam wash with a military ID.
