SAFD investigating cause of fire at East Side home

No one was injured

SAN ANTONIO – San Antonio firefighters are investigating the cause of a fire that started at an East Side home on Wednesday morning.

The fire broke out after 7:30 a.m. in the 900 block of Mason Street, not far from Interstate 35 and North New Braunfels Avenue.

According to SAFD, firefighters found flames coming from a room at the front of the house. The flames appeared to have spread to the attic.

A woman inside the house was able to escape. She initially said no one else was inside, but then said a man was at the home, SAFD said.

Firefighters searched the home but did not find anyone else. They are trying to make contact with that man.

No one was injured. Investigators are looking for the cause of the fire.
