House being rebuilt near Leon Valley destroyed by late-night fire

Fire was called in just after 10:30 p.m. near Crystal Bow, Blackberry Dr.

SAN ANTONIO – A house undergoing renovations on the city’s West Side was destroyed by a late-night fire, San Antonio fire officials said Monday.

The fire was called in at a home near Crystal Bow Street and Blackberry Drive, not far from Loop 410 and near Leon Valley.

Firefighters said when they arrived, they found flames showing from a home that was being completely rebuilt to its frames, along with some nearby trees on fire. The fire was knocked down quickly, and without incident.

Fire officials said the cause of the fire is not currently known. The home is considered a total loss.

The Leon Valley Fire Department, along with the San Antonio Fire Department, both responded to the call.

A fire investigation team is now trying to determine the exact cause. There were no reports of any injuries.
