SAN ANTONIO – The San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo is welcoming two new members into its Hall of Fame — each honored for leaving a mark on the organization in different ways.
According to a news release, Alex Peña and Christopher “Kit” Goldsbury Jr. are the 2027 Hall of Fame inductees. Both were nominated by rodeo volunteers and selected for induction by the San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo Hall of Fame Committee.

More than 7,000 volunteers serve the rodeo each year. The Hall of Fame Committee was established in 1999 to recognize those who have made a lasting impact to the rodeo’s mission of serving Texas youth, according to the release.
Peña has been a life member of the rodeo for more than 35 years, starting his volunteer service on the ambassador committee.
The rodeo said Peña “went on to play an instrumental role in establishing the first cattle drive through downtown San Antonio,” which has since transformed into the annual Western Heritage Weekend featuring the cattle drive, parade, 5K run and Vaquero Cook-Off.
In the release, Peña said being part of the rodeo “is like being part of a family.”
Goldsbury, a life member for more than 25 years, “has made a lasting impact through his generosity and support of the organization,” the release states.
He donated 61 acres to the rodeo, providing a permanent home for the Bar-B-Que Cook-Off and other competitive events.
“Their contributions are different, but they share something at the heart of service: a willingness to give what they could to something larger than themselves,” the rodeo said.
The 2027 San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo is set for Feb. 11-28.
