Man forces way into ex's home, stabs her with meat fork, deputies say

Richard Rodriguez, 52, has been taken into custody

SAN ANTONIO – A Sunday night turned into a nightmare for one woman after deputies say her ex-boyfriend broke into her home, grabbed her and stabbed her with a meat fork.

Richard Rodriguez, 52, has been taken into custody.

According to an arrest warrant affidavit, the incident occurred Oct. 7 just before 10 p.m. in the 4400 block of Palace Street in Von Ormy.

The affidavit said Rodriguez went to the woman's home, and when she wouldn't let him inside he forced his way in through a window.

The BCSO said Rodriguez demanded that the woman leave with him but instead she ran to a bathroom and locked herself inside. That's when, deputies said, Rodriguez allegedly kicked open the door, and when she refused to go with him he pulled her by the hand and grabbed the meat fork.

The affidavit said she continued to resist and started screaming, trying to get attention of neighbors. Rodriguez started stabbing her in her torso and on her head with the meat fork, deputies said.

A neighbor eventually heard the screaming and alerted the authorities.

Rodriguez now faces three charges: violating a protection order, burglary with the intent to commit assault and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

The woman is expected to recover.
