Van de Putte said since the Fourth of July is right around the corner, we should celebrate a flag that unites us and not divides us.

"This is one historic flag out of thousands of flags, and not even that terrible significant from a historical standpoint," said Van de Putte. "I think it was (as) much an economic decision in that it wasn't worth the trouble."

Customers who have ordered flags before June 23 will receive a full refund.

KSAT is told several San Antonio manufacturing companies will also discontinue making and sellng Confederate flags.
