SAN ANTONIO – San Antonio police are searching for a 28-year-old man who they believe shot his wife and mother-in-law during a dispute in their Southwest Side home.
Officers were called to the home, in the 5100 block of Sherry Drive, shortly before 4 a.m. Tuesday and found the mother-in-law suffering from life-threatening wounds.
They found the wife with a gunshot wound to her hand at another location. Officers said she went to a home in the 5100 block of Hillburn to call for help.

The man meanwhile took off in a green colored Honda sport utility vehicle with paper tags. Police know his name but did not find him right away.
They said the suspect had been arguing with his wife when he pulled out a gun and shot her in the hand.
The mother-in-law then intervened and was shot during a struggle with the man for the gun, police said. She suffered life-threatening wounds and was rushed to an area hospital.
Officers later removed two young children from the home and turned them over to relatives. It appears they were inside the home at the time of the shootings but they were not physically hurt.
