Ace Austin Martinez, 24, charged with capital murder

SAN ANTONIO – An arrest has been made in connection with the shooting death of a man outside his South Side home Monday afternoon.

Ace Austin Martinez, 24, was taken into custody late Tuesday on a charge of capital murder.

According to an arrest warrant affidavit, San Antonio police investigators believe he fired the shot that killed Michael Calderon, 22, in the 100 block of W. Vestal.

The affidavit said Calderon's girlfriend told police they were outside his home when three men walked up, began arguing with the victim and then beat him.

At one point, one of the men pulled out a gun and shot Calderon, killing him.

Police said the attack was caught on camera. However, it appears, initially, they did not know the identity of any of the men in the video.

The affidavit said a tipster came forward later, giving them Martinez's name and telling them that he  had confessed to committing the murder.

It appears that police have not identified the other two men who were involved yet.
