Medina, who’s running for mayor in the upcoming San Antonio election, said Tuesday he has been using police escorts for years to get people to go vote.

Medina also said that neither of the officers worked for the SAPD. The Police Department said that’s not the case.

The SAPD officer seen in the video was working off-duty at the time of the incident.

The Police Department will investigate whether any policy was violated.
