Red Bull Flying Bach brings high-energy, classical show to SA

SAN ANTONIO – A clash of classical music and urban culture will hit San Antonio this week.

World champion dance crew Flying Steps will perform at the Aztec Theatre on Wednesday.

The group performs note-by-note and step-by-step to Johann Sebastian Bach’s classic “The Well-Tempered Clavier.”

Flying Steps visualizes and revives the composition in a creative performance with piano, harpsichord and electronic beats.

Flying Steps combined its performance with Bach in 2010, and has since performed for 400,000 people in 31 countries. 

The show creates an experience that is more than break dancing.

The dancers strive to embody the classical music and use it to convey a story to the audience. 

The group’s 2016 U.S. tour kicked off in San Francisco on May 20.
