SAN ANTONIO – The Kyrie Irving saga continues in Cleveland and the San Antonio Spurs remain in the thick of the discussions, according to a report on ESPN.com.

ESPN NBA insider Adrian Wojnarowski reported on Tuesday morning that Irving would be willing to sign an extension with the Spurs if he were traded to San Antonio.

Wojnarowski reported on July 28 that San Antonio was one of six teams that had proposed a trade for the All-Star guard.

However, the Cavaliers have been deliberate on any possible deals for Irving because of the uncertainty about LeBron James’ future with the team.

If the Cavs got an assurance from James he was staying past this season, the front office may be willing to trade Irving for veteran, win-now players such as LaMarcus Aldridge, Danny Green and Tony Parker.

Without a commitment from James, the team is currently focused on trading Irving for a possible future superstar.

According to Wojnarowski, the Cavs are expected to be more aggressive in Irving trade talks in September close to the start of NBA training camps.
