The regional round of the high school girls basketball playoffs across Texas was delayed by a day due to weather on Friday night. This set up an intense Saturday as teams competed to punch their ticket to the fifth round.

The playoff structure that we’ve come to know from the 6A football championship will now look the same for volleyball, basketball, soccer, softball, and baseball.

Classes 1A and 6A took the stage at Mike A. Meyers Stadium for the final day of the UIL State Track & Field State Meet in Austin.

SAN ANTONIO At least two San Antonio school districts are expected to further postpone the start of athletic practices due to the uncertainty surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic. In a statement, a district spokesperson said:At this time, SAISD Athletics will remain 100% virtual due to the uncertain COVID-19 circumstances in and around Bexar County. The new SAISD start date for in-person Athletics is Oct. 5.SAISD officials said the decision was made based on Metro Healths assessed risk level for schools. We are still monitoring the data and once the numbers show its truly safe we will consider bringing our students for practice, a South San district spokesperson said. SAISD and Edgewood ISD schools play football in the same 5A district.
