Protests shift to memorializing Floyd amid push for change

Texas football players march to Capitol to honor Floyd

AUSTIN, Texas Dozens of University of Texas football players marched with Austin police officers from campus to the state Capitol to honor the memory of George Floyd on Thursday. This protest wont just stop here, junior safety Caden Sterns, who graduated from Steele High School in San Antonio, said. To the white community ... if you want change like you say you do, you must change. What I mean is, you must realize, and the oppressor must realize, you are oppressing.The players were joined by coach Tom Herman. Caden Sterns out as injuries mount on Texas' secondary

AUSTIN, Texas (AP) - The injury news keeps getting worse for No. Cornerback Jalen Green is expected to miss at least that much time with a dislocated shoulder. Another defensive back, Josh Thompson, is out indefinitely with a broken foot and linebacker Marcus Tillman Jr., will miss the rest of the season with a knee ligament sprain. Texas (3-1, 1-0) is already struggling against the pass. 6 Oklahoma, which has one of the top passing offenses in the country, on Oct. 12.

UT safety Caden Sterns sidelined following 'knee procedure'

AUSTIN – Former Steele High School star Caden Sterns underwent what the University of Texas at Austin is calling a minor knee procedure Tuesday that will keep the Big 12’s Defensive Freshman of the Year out for all spring drills. The school said Sterns will be available for summer workouts. Sterns is coming off a great season, starting every single game as a freshman. The first true freshman defensive back to start in all 13 games at UT since 2000, Sterns led the team in interceptions with four to go along with his 62 tackles -- 46 of which were solo -- three tackles for a loss, one sack and four pass breakups. Sterns, who was also named to the All-Big 12 first team, suffered a knee injury late in the first half of the Big 12 Championship game.
