Cardboard cutouts of children are popping up across Bexar County again as part of ChildSafe’s annual “Cardboard Kids” campaign, a visual reminder meant to prompt families, schools and communities to talk about — and work to prevent — child sexual abuse.

The initiative, which launched in 2011, has decorated, cardboard figures to symbolize children in the community who may or are silently enduring abuse.

Beginning Saturday morning on March 11, ChildSafe will distribute Cardboard Kids across Bexar County to empower families to discuss child abuse.
