Rangers' net play topples Clemens, 3-1
Three players for Smithson Valley logged more than 10 kills each as the Rangers defeated the Clemens Buffaloes three games to one Friday to remain unbeaten in District 27-6A play. “The more we had arms firing, the more they were going to be off on their blocks.”The Rangers went 25-13, 15-25, 25-21, 25-18 for the 3-1 win, three days after topping perennial power New Braunfels, 3-2. Outside hitters Bekah Williams had 13 kills, Naomi Ortiz 12, and Reagan Elizondo 10 to lead the net assault for the Rangers. Smithson Valley couldn’t close the gap the rest of the game as the Clemens defense turned up the heat and put the Rangers on their heels. Smithson Valley returns home on Friday to host East Central after having faced Judson on Tuesday.
