San Antonio couple helps save 68 COVID-19 patients and counting after donating plasma
SAN ANTONIO – One San Antonio couple is making a huge difference in the city’s fight against the new coronavirus. Brian and Dina Murphy, of San Antonio, were featured in a report on Good Morning America for donating plasma to aid 68 COVID-19 patients and counting. Although Brian was never tested for COVID-19, Dina told GMA she believes she contracted the virus from her husband. Now, the pair has been donating plasma at the South Texas Blood and Tissue Center ever since. Dina began donating plasma when she was fully recovered, in mid-April, and Brian started donating in June, GMA reports.
Some New York news shows back, but many hosts work remotely
Monday represented a key phase in New York City's reopening, with many offices bringing employees back for the first time. Despite the CBS and Fox moves, most news employees continue to work remotely, and the television programs that originate here have a patchwork of approaches that have quickly become familiar. A majority of the show hosts on MSNBC including Joe Scarborough, Mika Brzezinski and Willie Geist of Morning Joe work remotely. Other morning shows have varied approaches. Hoda Kotb of NBC's Today show has worked out of that show's Rockefeller Center studio, but most of her colleagues are at home.
ABC names Matt James as its first black 'Bachelor'

The casting was announced Friday on Good Morning America.James, a 28-year-old from North Carolina, was originally chosen to compete for Clare Crawley's affection on The Bachelorette, but filming was scrapped in March due to the coronavirus pandemic. Good Morning America says James founded an organization in New York City that finds creative ways to engage children from underserved areas. The show has been under pressure for years to be more diverse and cast a black "Bachelor."
