Coronavirus in Illinois updates: Here’s what happened Dec. 18 with COVID-19 in the Chicago area
Illinois on Friday surpassed 15,000 recorded deaths since the start of the coronavirus pandemic, one week after the state’s death toll climbed above 14,000. Over the past week, the state has averaged 138 deaths from COVID-19 per day. Meanwhile, Walgreens and CVS Health predict the COVID-19 vaccine will be available to the public during the spring, and patients will most likely be able to make appointments to get the shots at pharmacies.
