Popular Norteo band Intocable live drive-in concert in San Antonio postponed until September
SAN ANTONIO Intocables live drive-in concert at San Antonios Freeman Coliseum has officially been postponed until September. The popular Tejano/Norteo band posted an announcement Thursday, saying the concerts postponement was due to the coliseums parking lot being converted into a makeshift hospital for Hurricane Laura evacuee COVID-19 patients. The bands full announcement can be read below:The bands drive-in concert comes after five band members tested positive for the coronavirus in early July. Its always fun to go back to San Antonio and see the people and they show support and love.Tickets that have already been purchased will still be valid for Septembers concert. SAN ANTONIO On Sunday, Intocable will be back in San Antonio for a live drive-in concert in the Freeman Coliseum parking lot. Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, band members say they have been forced to try out new things. After seeing a band in Europe perform a live drive-in concert, singer Ricky Muoz threw the idea out to the other members of the band and their manager. The drive-in tour was a hit but in early July the coronavirus hit the band. Thats the city that signed us and its very important to the industry of Tejano music, Muoz said.

SAN ANTONIO โ Itโs been over a month since Tejano music legend Little Joe Hernandez announced he had tested positive for COVID-19. A few days later his wife, daughter, niece and some of his staff members also tested positive. โIt started with the aching feeling like the flu, body aches and stuff, but the sweats, the fever, itโs terrible,โ Hernandez said. Tejano singer Ram Herrera speaks about the loss of his mother, brother this summer
SAN ANTONIO โ It's been a tough year for San Antonio Tejano singer Ram Herrera. In May his mother died, in June he and his entire family got COVID-19, and last month his brother died of the virus. A little over a month and a half after his mother died, Herrera and several members of his family tested positive for COVID-19. The losses of both his brother and mother inspired Herrera to get back into the recording booth and record the popular Christian song "I Can Only Imagine." "I felt compelled to record it because I would imagine what my mom felt when she went to heaven when she died," Herrera said.
Lineup announced for 4-day Tejano Music Awards Fan Fair at SAโs Market Square
SAN ANTONIO โ More than 200 bands from the U.S. and Mexico will hit up San Antonioโs iconic Market Square for the Tejano Music Awards Fan Fair in March. The lineup for the festival, set for March 12-15, was released Monday morning and includes local favorites like Shelly Lares and Ram Herrera. The free event, expected to bring in more than 150,000 fans, will run from noon-11 p.m. daily. Tejano singer Ram Herrera shares emotional message to fans from hospital bedHerrera, who has won numerous awards throughout his career, including a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Tejano Music Association, said he was โgoing to pull through" and โbe back to work soon.โThe โTejano music event of the year" is held annually before the Tejano Music Awards Show, which will mark 40 years in 2020. The awards show will take place in November, but the exact time and place have not been released.
