Driver detained on suspicion of DWI after crash on East Side, police say
SAN ANTONIO โ A local driver was detained on suspicion of DWI after crashing into another vehicle and causing a chain reaction on the cityโs East Side late Wednesday night, San Antonio police said. The crash occurred around 10:15 p.m. in the 1300 block of Rigsby Avenue, not far from Hallie Avenue. According to police, the man in his 20s was driving a sport utility vehicle and was attempting to turn onto Hallie Avenue when he collided with a black sedan. Police said the black sedan then hit a black BMW. The driver of the SUV was detained on suspicion of DWI.
Two car crashes in one day occur near Southeast Side home, officials say
SAN ANTONIO โ Not once, but twice in one day, a Southeast Side home became the site of a car crash. During the evening, a truck crashed into the porch and hit another vehicle in the driveway of the home. Luckily, no one was hurt, but the homeownerโs son said on Thursday morning, another driver crashed into their tree on their front lawn. Semi-truck jackknifes overnight on Loop 410
SAN ANTONIO โ An 18-wheeler heading north on Loop 410 jackknifed late last night after the driver lost control. Police said the accident happened just before 11:30 p.m. on Loop 410 and Risgby Road. According to police, the driver said he took the exit onto Rigsby and got onto the frontage road. Thatโs when, the driver said, he lost control of the semi truck and jackknifed at the intersection. The driver claims the roads were slick from the all rain and he couldnโt control the 18-wheeler.
