The botched law enforcement response to the Robb Elementary School shooting has become a campaign topic for some of the candidates in Uvalde County seeking nomination to their political party in the Texas Primary on March 5.

Human smuggling cases on the rise in Uvalde, law enforcement says
In Uvalde, which is less than two hours away from San Antonio, law enforcement is reporting an increase of human smuggling cases. Weโve dealt with 35 (human) smuggling cases,โ said Uvalde County Sheriff Ruben Nolasco. The Uvalde Police Department and the Uvalde County Sheriffโs Office have been working closely with the U.S. Border Patrol. Itโs not leaving them with anything or the county,โ Rodriguez said. Uvalde County measures 40 miles by 40 miles.
