SAN MARCOS – Danny Kaspar is stepping down from his position as head men’s basketball coach. Texas State announced via press release that Director of Athletics Larry Teis has accepted Kaspar’s resignation. Kaspar came under fire in June, as former players accused him of making racist remarks during practice. Shead transferred the following summer. Former teammate Alex Peacock supported Shead, saying "I stand with my boy Jaylen and everything he says 100%.”

SAN ANTONIO As the fall semester nears, University of Texas at San Antonio is finalizing its plans on how students will go back to class. Classes will begin as scheduled on Aug. 24, and all instructional activities after Thanksgiving break will be conducted online, including finals exams. The university also reaffirmed its commitment to foreign students after Immigration and Customs Enforcement announced that international students taking fully online courses would risk deportation. Residence and dining halls will remain open throughout the semester and the fall tuition rate will remain unchanged, according to the university. Some mandatory fees may be adjusted pending final decisions regarding campus services, according to the information.

SAN ANTONIO Students at Texas State University in San Marcos are gearing up to return to face-to-face learning starting next Monday. The university has detailed its Roadmap to Return plan online, saying its a slow, methodical, phased-in approach to ensuring students return and safety precautions are met. They said Texas State is in constant communication with local and state health officials. The University of Texas at San Antonio and the University of Incarnate Word expect to have their fall plan details by next week. James said professors at UIW are ready to pivot to online learning if the situation changes.
