The U.S. has secured the release of a U.S. soldier who sprinted across a heavily fortified border into North Korea more than two months ago, and he is on his way to San Antonio for a medical evaluation and treatment, officials announced Wednesday.
Brooke Army Medical Center takes in trauma patients to help free up beds at other SA hospitals
SAN ANTONIO โ Medical professionals from the Brooke Army Medical Center will be partnering with University Hospital to provide some relief in their COVID-19 treatment efforts. The increase of coronavirus cases has local hospitals feeling the pressure. In order to make room for more COVID-19 patients, BAMC is helping other hospitals by taking in additional trauma patients. However, they are confident this collaborative effort will relieve some of the strain on local hospitals. BAMC, Wilford Hall selected as locations for phase three COVID-19 vaccine trials
SAN ANTONIO The Department of Defense has selected Brooke Army Medical Center and Wilford Hall Ambulatory Surgical Center as two of the five locations for phase three trial evaluations for a COVID-19 vaccine. The goal is to have the vaccine ready by January 2021. Researchers are also looking for more volunteers to test the potential vaccine. After motorcycle wreck, SA man says BAMC bills topped $1.2 million
Dykman, who was critically injured, was taken to Brooke Army Medical Center, where he would stay for nearly 70 days. Dykman, who credits BAMC medical staff with saving his life, also suffered multiple other lacerated organs, according to medical records viewed by the KSAT 12 Defenders. Dykmans medical bills are staggering. He received three bills in the six-figures and a long list of five-figure bills, pushing the amount owed for his original hospital stay and follow up stays to over $1.2 million. Now BAMC bills threaten their livelihood.
Man killed after crash on Northeast Side identified
SAN ANTONIO โ The Bexar County Medical Examinerโs office has identified the man killed in a Northeast Side crash Friday night. Luis Perez, 49, died at BAMC after being rushed from the scene of the accident at Loop 410 and Starcrest. Two injured after crashing into SAPD officerโs patrol vehicleThe crash that killed Perez was one of many police and emergency response crews worked Friday. At one point first responders worked at least six major accidents across the city. Investigators are trying to determine the cause of the fatal crash.
