SAN ANTONIO – Some freezing rain is still falling in the Hill Country on Thursday with some showers to the south. It is very scattered and continuing to move out.

A winter storm warning for the Hill Country has been extended until 10 a.m. However for Bexar and adjacent counties, it’s been downgraded to an advisory and goes until 8 a.m.

Here’s the latest regarding traffic issues in the San Antonio area:

  • A major crash has blocked several lanes of traffic along I-35 SB near Von Ormy Road exit. Use caution or find an alternate route, police say.

In addition, a major crash involving multiple vehicles was reported Tuesday on the Loop 1604 exit ramp near Lookout Road. The crash happened just after 8 a.m. and early reports indicate the crash may involve as many as 10 vehicles. It has since cleared. A major crash was also reported along the frontage road of I-10 WB between US 87 and Christus Pkwy in Boerne. A portion of Interstate 10 at the Kerr-Kimble county line is closed on Tuesday morning due to a crash involving multiple 18-wheelers. Kerrville police said traffic is at a standstill on the westbound lanes.

Early Tuesday, another major crash was reported along Highway 281 at Borgfeld Drive. SAPD said to avoid that area if possible. A multi-car pileup also closed the O’Connor bridge on the city’s NE Side around 6 a.m
