After a loud and noisy Tuesday night of showers and thunderstorms, the National Weather Service confirmed at least one tornado in the San Antonio area.

As Memorial Day weekend kicks off the unofficial start of summer across the country, thousands are expected to head to the rivers and lakes. This year, conditions are generally favorable for tubing, though water levels remain a bit mixed depending on location.

NOAA forecasts a below-average 2026 Atlantic hurricane season, predicting 8 to 14 named storms, with 3 to 6 becoming hurricanes and 1 to 3 reaching major hurricane strength.

Loud storms rolled through the San Antonio area late Tuesday night into Wednesday morning, bringing a good amount of rainfall. More rain is expected to continue on and off throughout the weekend.
