Permanent three-day weekends may seem like a dream, but theyโre a reality for workers at Elephant Ventures, a software and data engineering company headquartered in New York. The company started testing a four-day workweek in August of last year to help prevent employee burnout and maintain work-life balance during the pandemic. Coronavirus pandemic is increasing stress and mental health problems in the workplace

While talking more openly and providing employee resources about mental health can help de-stigmatized issues, itโs still a tough conversation to have with your boss. Many companies have increased their mental health benefits since the pandemic started, like adding free meditation apps and providing additional paid time off. Even if you have a good relationship with your boss, you donโt need to provide a lot of personal information when asking for mental health days. Talking about mental health is important, but be selective with who you share with in the office.
