Check out the parade from our downtown City Cam.

This year is the 126th annual Battle of Flowers Parade, the oldest event and largest parade during Fiesta.

The parade started in 1891 as a way to honor the heroes of the Alamo, with parade walkers placing flowers in front of the mission as tribute.

People line the streets of San Antonio, sometimes chaining chairs to fences along the parade route days in advance to secure their spots.

Battle of Flowers is the only parade in the U.S. that is produced entirely by women.

All the women are volunteers and can be spotted throughout the parade dressed in yellow and wearing yellow hats.

The theme of this year’s Battle of Flowers Parade is "Blazing Trails" in honor of all the trailblazers who have made San Antonio great.

The Rev. David Garcia, a familiar face in San Antonio’s Catholic community, will be the grand marshal of the 2017 Battle of Flowers Parade.

If you're heading out to see the parade, remember to use sunscreen and bring a hat to beat the heat.

You can also watch the parade from home or on your phone via the KSAT app.

Tune in at 12:30 p.m. to see the parade and at 3 p.m. for the Battle of Flowers Fiesta Special on SA Live.
