The dinner comes after the San Antonio Police Department lost one of its own in a shootout that killed Officer Miguel Moreno and injured his partner Officer Julio Cavazos.

"The city continues to take blows with these events," Richard Miller, president of the 100 Club of San Antonio said. "They're just a shock to the system every single time, but quite honestly the support from Bexar County and the citizens of San Antonio has just been tremendous."

Miller said the community's support has allowed the group to expand its services to address mental health issues.
