UNIVERSAL CITY, Texas – The roaring thunder in the skies over San Antonio was from the 2011 Randolph Air Force Base Air Show and the U.S. Navy Blue Angels headlined the show.
The fast paced, high flying jets wowed the crowds at Randolph Air Force Base on Saturday afternoon.

"Just how close they fly together, how much trust they have in each other, it's really amazing," said Austin Maracle, a 9th grade high school student who came out to see the show.
A favorite for many spectators on Saturday was what the U. S. Navy's Flight Demonstration Squadron is so well known for: the four jet, diamond formation.
However, Saturday's air show also featured some of the oldest and newest military aircraft, as well as other performers.
"I think its great," said Larry Busbee, a spectator. "I was in the military about 24 years and I like to come out to these things just about every time they come into town."
Because the two-day event is free and open to the public, organizers on Saturday said it gives everyone a chance to come out and enjoy the show.
"Just to get the civilians out here to see Randolph Air Force Base up close and personal," Lt. Col. Mike Claborn, the Air Show Director. "And, really just ask questions to the military members, see what it's like and maybe generate interest from the younger people, maybe they'll join the Air Force somewhere down the road here."
The Air Show continues on Sunday.
