SA Rodeo sets records

SAN ANTONIO – The final numbers are in for this year's San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo and residents and visitors helped set several new records.

Officials say this year's attendance through Saturday totaled 1,464,291.

That breaks last year's record by nearly 27,000 and there was still a full day of grounds attendance rodeo officials have to compile.

This year's grand champion steer was exhibited by Caeley Cody and brought in a record-setting $112,000.

The grand total for all junior livestock auctions was approximately $4 million which set an all-time record.
