Suzy Bianchi-Peters says she has "full faith" that the men indicted for the murders of her 29-year-old daughter, Rebecca Gonzales, 10-year-old granddaughter, Sammy Ochoa, and friend Pamela Wenske will be convicted of the crimes.
The three were stabbed in a home on the 200 block of Karen Lane on September 14, 2011, before the house was intentionally set on fire.
For Bianchi-Peters, the news that Sammy's father, Conrad Ochoa, and her uncle, Baron Ochoa, were indicted Tuesday on capital murder charges was a long time coming.
"In my opinion, it didn't matter how long it took," she said. "Just so long as it got done right the first time."
Bianchi-Peters says she blamed the brothers for the murder from the very beginning after a long custody battle between Rebecca and Conrad and allegations of sexual abuse.
"We'd spent more than a year- a year and a half, in fact- trying to get someone to pay attention that my granddaughter had been sexually assaulted and my daughter was being threatened," said Bianchi-Peters.
Baron Ochoa was arrested in October 2011 on charges of continuous sexual abuse of a child. Sammy was one of his alleged victims.
Conrad Ochoa was initially arrested for possessing child pornography.
Now the pair face the possibility of a life sentence or the death penalty that comes with a capital murder offense.
"I want to be able to see their faces. I want them to be able to see my face," Bianchi-Peters said, "It has to happen. There is no other outcome."
