Fiesta parades are always filled with shouts of "show us your shoes," but A and C Custom Boots wants that chant to change.
They want to show off their custom boots.
"It's kind of hard to see the boots that we make, because they don't show them when we're at the spot," said Joe Castillo Jr.
His father has been teaching him to make boots for decades. They put weeks of labor into crafting each pair of hand-made boots.
"When I was a kid, I did do that around the house, helping with little things here and there. I could probably say it grew into me," Castillo said.
He also learned the pride from his dad.
Seeing A and C boots in the Fiesta parades is one of their proudest moments.
This year, a bright pair with bluebonnets, initials and lots of Fiesta colors should show up Friday afternoon.
"I got tickets for the night parade with my wife and my kids. We're not going to get to see those, but we'll probably see them on TV," Castillo said.
He's hoping more people will see them and the trend will catch on.
