Terrance Bryant and his wife Lasonya Williams pulled Hagos from the water and immediately administered CPR before emergency responders arrived and rushed her to University Hospital where she was pronounced dead.

"It seemed so surreal. We take life for granted and when something like that happens it's very touching. We have children, I have six grandchildren that could have been us. It could have been anybody at any time," said Bryant.

According to authorities, she was swimming alone when someone noticed she had been under water too long.

The medical examiner will conduct an autopsy to determine the cause of death.

Police are not sure if Hagos lived at the complex or if she was with accompanied by anyone. An investigation is ongoing.
