SAN ANTONIO – The third-annual Festival People en Espanol is returning to San Antonio Labor Day weekend.
Among the international influencers and celebrities to participate in the events happening Saturday and Sunday are entertainer Julian Gil, professional boxer Saul "Canelo" Alvarez, TV legend Don Francisco and actor Dra. Ana Maria Polo.
The Chicos Poderosas Concert, which is powered by Disney, will feature one of today's hottest performers, Zendaya, on Saturday from 7-9 p.m. at the Lila Cockrell Theater, with special guest Becky G. Tickets to the concert start at $25.
Amidst the festival's free daytime activities will be giveaways, movie screenings, authentic San Antonio cuisine and more from the community's favorite brands.
"Latino Millennials, who compromise more than a third of People en Espanol audience, are leading the country's positive trends in educational attainment and making tremendous strides," said Monique Manso, publisher of "People en Espanol." "'People en Espanol' is dedicated to inspiring the next generation, from San Antonio and around the country, by celebrating our youth and presenting empowering content and interactive experiences for the entire family this Labor Day weekend."
Influential author, spiritual leader and entrepreneu Bishop T.D. Jakes will also be speaking Saturday at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center.
In response to the audience's demand and enthusiasm last year, there will be twice as many performers. Other celebrities scheduled to appear throughout the weekend are actress-singer Maite Perroni, novela star Sara Maldonado, singers Priscila Angel and Jaci Velasquez, TV personalities Myrka Dellanos, Poncho de Anda and Alejandra Oraa, actor Eduardo Verastegui, singer-actors Mane de la Parra, Carlos Ponce and Gabriel Coronel, actress Genesis Rodriguez and comedian Cristela Alonzo.
The doors open at 9:30 a.m. Saturday and Sunday.
