Big rig bursts into flames after fatal crash in San Marcos

Crash shuts down I-35 North for hours

SAN MARCOS, Texas – A fiery accident that involved two semi-trucks and several other vehicles in San Marcos has taken the life of at least one person and injured four more.

The City of San Marcos tweeted about the fatal crash Tuesday afternoon around 3:30 p.m. on Interstate 35 North near exit 204.

A big rig became fully engulfed in flames immediately after the crash, but officials have not released any other details.

Northbound I-35 was shut down for hours after the crash. The highway was finally cleared just after 2 a.m. Wednesday.
