Man who confessed to wife's killing facing new charge
Jonathan Geryk, 24, charged with taking an officer's gun
SAN ANTONIO – Already facing murder charges, Jonathan Geryk, 24, has now been charged with taking an officer's gun.
The new charge was filed Friday as Geryk was already jailed.
Late Tuesday night, Geryk walked into a police substation and said he killed his wife.
Bexar County deputies went to the home and found Geryk wife, Katrina Geryk, 24, dead in a bedroom. Authorities said she had been strangled.
Geryk reportedly grabbed a deputy's gun from its holster during questioning in an apparent attempt to hurt himself.
At last report, Geryk was under suicide watch at the jail.
